Blooket Student Login: join a game and sign in
Most students never need to 'log in' to Blooket — they just join a class game with a Game ID. Here's exactly when an account helps, how to create one, and how to fix the few sticking points that students run into.
Join vs. log in: which do I actually need?
This is the single most confusing thing about Blooket for new students. The platform has two completely separate flows:
- Join a game — happens at play.blooket.com. No email, no password, no account. You type a Game ID and a nickname and you're playing within seconds.
- Log in to an account — happens at blooket.com/login. Only required for teachers and for students who want their progress remembered.
If your teacher just told you "we're playing Blooket today," you almost certainly need the join flow, not the login flow.
How to join a Blooket game
- Open any browser and go to play.blooket.com. On Chromebooks and phones this is the fastest path.
- Enter the 6-digit Game ID shown on your teacher's screen.
- Choose a nickname. Use something your teacher will recognize — your real first name and last initial usually works. Avoid jokes that might get you flagged by the moderation filter.
- Wait on the lobby screen until your teacher starts the round. Don't refresh — that can push you to a new spot in the queue.
Creating a free student account (optional)
If you want XP, Tokens, and Blooks to follow you from game to game, you'll need an account. Here's the safest path:
- Go to blooket.com/signup.
- Select Student.
- Enter a username, an email you actually check, and a password you can remember.
- Verify the email if Blooket sends a confirmation.
From then on, sign in at blooket.com/login. Joining games still happens at play.blooket.com — but once signed in, your gameplay rewards will save automatically.
Saving XP, Tokens, and Blooks
Blooket rewards are tied to your account, not to the device. Sign in before each class game and the platform will credit your stats. If you join without signing in, your nickname plays as a guest and rewards aren't saved — which is fine if you don't care about the meta-game.
Common student login issues
- "Game not found" — Either the Game ID was mistyped, the teacher hasn't started the lobby yet, or the game already ended. Ask your teacher to re-share the ID.
- Nickname rejected — Blooket auto-blocks names that look inappropriate. Pick a clean alternative.
- Forgot account password — Use the password reset flow.
- Game lags on a school Chromebook — Close other tabs and any extensions you don't need. Blooket is animation-heavy and benefits from a clean tab.
