Blooket Glossary

Every Blooket term you'll hear in a classroom, defined in plain English. Use this page when a guide mentions a word you're not sure about — every entry links to a deeper article when one exists.

Blook
A collectible character in Blooket — students unlock new Blooks by earning tokens during games. Blooks are cosmetic; they don't affect gameplay accuracy.
Blooket Plus
Blooket's paid subscription for teachers. It unlocks larger class sizes, advanced reports, additional question types, and homework features. Free accounts can still host most games.
Dashboard
The teacher-side workspace at blooket.com after login. Hosts games, edits sets, opens reports, and manages classes.
Game ID
A short numeric code (usually 6–7 digits) shown to the class when a teacher hosts a live game. Students enter it at play.blooket.com to join.
Game Mode
The interactive format wrapped around a question set — examples include Gold Quest, Tower Defense, Café, and Crypto Hack.
Homework Mode
A non-live assignment format. Students complete the set on their own time using a join link, and teachers see results in Reports.
Host
The verb for starting a live Blooket game. The teacher 'hosts' the session and shares the Game ID with students.
Lobby
The waiting screen displayed before a live game starts. Students see their nicknames appear as they join.
Nickname
The display name a student enters when joining a game. Teachers usually ask for a recognizable name like 'First-Last initial'.
play.blooket.com
The student-facing join page. Asks only for a Game ID and a nickname — never a password.
Question Set
The pool of questions powering a Blooket game. Teachers create their own, import from Quizlet, or pick from the public Discover library.
Report
A per-student breakdown of game results in the teacher dashboard. Shows accuracy, time per question, and most-missed items.
Token
In-game currency students earn during play. Tokens unlock new Blooks and are tracked when a student is signed into their account.
XP
Experience points tied to a student account. XP carries across sessions and reflects total time spent learning on Blooket.
