Blooket Join: enter a Game ID at play.blooket.com

Joining a Blooket game is intentionally fast — no account, no email, no setup. This guide walks through the join URL, the nickname rules, and the small handful of problems that occasionally trip students up.

Where to go: play.blooket.com

For joining a live class game, the only address you need is play.blooket.com. The main Blooket site (blooket.com) is for accounts and hosting. Students who type the wrong one end up looking at a login form they don't have credentials for.

Three steps to join

  1. Open play.blooket.com in any modern browser.
  2. Type the Game ID your teacher is showing on the board.
  3. Pick a nickname your teacher will recognize, then tap Enter.
Don't refresh in the lobby
Refreshing while you're waiting for the teacher to start can re-queue you and occasionally lose your nickname. Just wait — the lobby auto-advances when the game begins.

Picking a nickname

Blooket auto-filters nicknames it considers inappropriate. Beyond that, the best nickname is one your teacher will see and immediately match to your name in the gradebook. First name + last initial is the standard pattern in most classrooms.

Rejoining after a disconnect

If Wi-Fi drops or you accidentally close the tab, you can usually reconnect by visiting play.blooket.com again, entering the same Game ID, and reusing the same nickname. Blooket will slot you back into your prior session if the teacher hasn't ended the game.

When the Game ID won't take

  • "Invalid Game ID" — Wrong URL or typo. Reconfirm play.blooket.com and the six digits.
  • "Game has ended" — The teacher closed the lobby. Ask for a new ID.
  • Stuck on the loading screen — Network issue. Try a different network or close other tabs.
