Blooket Browser Compatibility: what works and what doesn't

Blooket is browser-based, which means the browser you use matters more than the device. This guide lists what's officially supported, the settings you need, and the small set of extensions that reliably cause problems.

Supported browsers

  • Chrome — most tested, fewest edge cases.
  • Safari — works on macOS and iOS; some autoplay-audio quirks.
  • Firefox — fully supported; strict tracking protection occasionally needs an exception for blooket.com.
  • Edge — Chromium-based Edge works identically to Chrome.
Unsupported by design
Internet Explorer is not supported. Older Android WebView versions (used by some embedded apps) can also fail silently. Use a modern standalone browser.

Required settings

  • JavaScript: on.
  • Cookies: at least third-party cookies for blooket.com.
  • Local storage: on (most browsers tie this to cookies).
  • System clock: accurate — wrong time breaks HTTPS.

Problematic extensions

These have a track record of interfering with Blooket login or gameplay:

  • Aggressive ad-blockers (uBlock Origin with custom filter lists, AdGuard).
  • Privacy extensions like Privacy Badger or Ghostery.
  • Script blockers (NoScript, uMatrix).
  • School-deployed safety extensions that intercept HTTPS.

The fix is usually to add blooket.com and play.blooket.com to the extension's allowlist — not to disable the extension entirely.

Incognito and private windows

Private windows usually disable extensions and start with a clean cache, which makes them a great diagnostic tool. If Blooket works in incognito but not in your main window, an extension or cached cookie is the cause.

Browser-specific fixes

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data for blooket.com.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → blooket → Remove.
  • Firefox: Click the shield icon in the URL bar and disable Enhanced Tracking Protection for blooket.com.
  • Edge: Same flow as Chrome via Settings → Privacy, search, and services.
