Blooket Calculator
Plug in your question count, class size, and game mode — get a realistic estimate of how long the round will take and how many answers each student will fit in. Built for lesson planning, not affiliated with Blooket.
For 20 questions × 24 students on Gold Quest.
Estimates assume default per-question timers and a typical classroom Wi-Fi connection. Plan a 2–3 minute buffer for late joiners and a 1-minute wrap-up.
How the Blooket Calculator works
The formula is intentionally simple so you can sanity-check it:
Total time = mode setup × class-size factor + mode pace × questions.
Every Blooket mode has a different lobby and intro animation length (the setup) and a different average seconds-per-question (the pace). We derived both numbers from a season of classroom testing across grades 4–9. Larger classes add a small drag to setup because more nicknames roll in.
What the calculator does NOT model
- Mid-round teacher discussion or pauses
- Unusually slow or filtered school networks
- Question difficulty (Blooket doesn't change pace based on difficulty)
- Teams vs solo (teams are usually 5–10% faster overall)
Best uses
- Lesson planning — confirm a round fits the bell schedule.
- Sub plans — give the substitute a realistic time block.
- Sharing a session ETA with a co-teacher.
